Vasilij ZBOGAR (SLO) is the new European Champion, with Ivan KLJAKOVIC-GASPIC (CRO) taking the Youth title.

Vasilij ZBOGAR (SLO) is the new European Champion, with Ivan KLJAKOVIC-GASPIC (CRO) taking the Youth title.
Zbogar won the event by two points from local sailor Mate ARAPOV (CRO) with Australia’s Michael BLACKBURN finishing in third. Maciej GRABOWSKI (POL) and Paul GOODISON (GBR) finished fourth and fifth respectively on equal points.
The Youth title was taken by Ivan KLJAKOVIC-GASPIC of Croatia by just one point from French sailor Jérémie STEYAERT. Mihalis KOULIANOS (GRE) took the bronze but with 45 points to Gaspic’s 25 was not much of a challenge to the top two by the final races.
The senior sailors will now be off to Athens to prepare for the pre-Olympic test event later this month and then to Cadiz for the 2003 ISAF World Championship in September.
