Four races were completed in a light northerly breeze by the Gold fleet on the last day of finals at the 49er European Championship bringing changes in the overall standings.

With a total of 16 races sailed and two discards the German crew of Marcus BAUR/Max GROY became the European Champions with 55 points followed by the British team Chris DRAPER/Simon HISCOCKS on 67 points. Third place was taken by the current World Champions and 2002 ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Nominees, Iker MARTINEZ/Xabier FERNÁNDEZ just two points behind on 69.

ISAF World Ranked Rodion LUKA/Georgiy LEONCHUK (UKR) finished ninth overall squeezing in ahead of Stevie MORRISON/Ben RHODES, the third of the British teams to finish in the top ten – an exciting battle is unfolding in the race for British selection in this event!

The silver fleet sailed 3 races but no races for the bronze fleet.
