Following some cloudy, rainy days, the 29ers could not expect to have such a sunny day with excellent wind conditions on their day of final series.
North-eastern winds, 12-14 knots blew since the first warning signal and provide the competitors with exciting sailing to complete the championship.
The 29er Gold fleet sailed three final races and the silver fleet were able to complete 1 before 16.00 hours, the time limit established in the Sailing Instructions. Great Britain has become the 2003 29er Class World Champion, represented by GBR 933 David EVANS/Rick PEACOCK, followed by Argentinian team ARG 15 Pepe BETTINI/Federico VILLAMBROSA in second place and third place overall has been again for Great Britain, GBR 30 Thomas SMEDLEY/Stevie WILSON.
