Mexican|s Take Races 5 and 6

Day three brought light variable winds in the Valle de Bravo. Two races were completed with both bullets going to Mexican boats taking advantage of local knowledge.

Race five was won by Jorge CASTILLO (MEX) on ‘Instigator’ with Bob HARDEN (USA) in second and Javier VELASQUEZ (MEX) in third. CASTILLO attributed his excellent performance to good work through the maneuvers and some good tactical calls in the difficult conditions.

Race six was won by Pablo CERVANTES (MEX) on ‘La Besanga’ with Mauricio COSTANZO (MEX) in second and Mike INGHAM (USA) in third.

HARDEN (USA) continues to top the leaderboard on 14 points (one discard) with three more races scheduled for today and Friday. Kenneth PORTER (MEX) holds on to second overall just 0.5 points ahead of third placed CASTILLO (MEX) on 24 points. With a different sailor taking the bullet in all 6 races so far, it will be consistency that pays off – HARDEN looks tough to beat at this stage only finishing once outside the top 5. Only seven points separate second and seventh place at this stage so there is everything to play for in the last three races.
