Final Results
A cloudy grey morning with a light northerly breeze greeted the sailors for the final day of the Formula Windsurfing European Championships in Douarnenez.

A cloudy grey morning with a light northerly breeze greeted the sailors for the final day of the Formula Windsurfing European Championships in Douarnenez.
Unfortunately conditions did not improve and after postponing for a couple of hours the organisers abandoned any hope of completing any more races.
Dorota Staszewska (POL) adds another European title to her collection in the women’s event and Steve Allen (AUS) claims the Men’s title. In a fleet of 12 sailors, Staszewska finished a clear 6 points ahead of Christine Becker (GER) in second with Christine Johnstone (GBR) finishing third.
In the 103 strong men’s fleet it was closer at the top with only 3 points separating the top three sailors. Steve Allen (AUS) eventually finished on 13 points after discarding his ninth from race one. Second overall was Gonzalo Costa Hueval (ARG) on 15 points and with 16 was Antoine Albeau from France. The first European finisher therefore was Albeau with Arnon Dagan (ISR) in second and Yannick Renard (FRA) in third.
The first youth sailor was Alberto Menegatti (ITA).
