Spanish Take Top Four on Lake Garda
The Vaurien European Championship, which concluded over the weekend in Malcesine on Lake Garda in Italy, saw Spanish Sailors take the top four positions in the 43 boat fleet.
The Vaurien European Championship, which concluded over the weekend in Malcesine on Lake Garda in Italy, saw Spanish Sailors take the top four positions in the 43 boat fleet.
Mainly sailed in light to moderate breezes from between 4 and 16 knots over the three days of competition, it was a close run thing with the top two finishers closing the regatta on equal points.
A consistant series from Javier SERRANO and Rosa FORURIA (ESP), appearing to be better suited to the slightly stronger races towards the end of the weekend, saw them top the leaderboard from fellow countrymen, Mikel ALVAREZ and Jon NAUSIA, with a victory in the final race.
