Over the holiday period we brought you a digest of the highs and lows of 2002 in sailing.
From the Volvo Ocean Race, Olympic Qualification, World and Continental championships and memorable moments, culminating of course with the start of the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Trials for the XXXI America’s Cup.
As well as a round up of numerous events, we brought you reminders of the issues raised in our sport throughout the last twelve months, Rule 42, safety in sport, and the decisions and reforms from the ISAF annual conference in Limassol, Cyprus, to name but a few.
The Rolex Sydney Hobart Race is now complete with all but two of the boats making it to Tasmania for New Year, and Sail Melbourne is well underway at the height of the Southern Hemisphere summer.
We have so much to look forward to in 2003, starting with the Final of the Louis Vuitton Cup in January, the ISAF Team Racing World Championship in the City of Sails, Auckland, and of course the largest dinghy event to be held, the ISAF World Championship in Cadiz in the Summer. All this plus much more, promises to make 2003 a fantastic year!
