A Pro Am Cup Keeping itâ??s Promises

After four races, Vasco Vascotto and his Italian team head the leader board in the Mumm 30 event which sees amateurs and professionals racing together.

His newly formed team which hopes to be the first Italian team to enter next years Tour Voile have proved consistant in the moderate breezes experienced so far in Marseille and lead without having won a race.

The competition is really tight with Ville d’Antibes NEC currently in second place with othree points behind and K-Challenge 1 just behind, with local Alain Fedensieu (FRA) doing tactics, and Nicolas Charbonnier at helm, who recently took part in the ISAF World Games in Marseilles and to “la Route des Iles”, giving them good local knowledge.

Local participants Marseille with Dimitri Deruelle helming are in seventh, just behind Nantes Saint-Nazaire headed by Pierre-Loïc Berthet. The one who will have the best results in the final general placing will win the French Mumm 30 Champion title, as they are very close at the moment on the circuit.

Asterix, the English team helmed by David Evans, are the first non-French in the early results, in ninth place overall having won the last race but counting an OCS in race three.

On the amateur side, Jump Event leads the dance in front of the Triga 5 Swiss team, ex-aequo with CSC ESSEC.

3 races are forecasted for today, with weather conditions again looking very promising and shaping what is becoming a close and hard fought regatta.
