Defending Champions Take Lead

Yesterday saw day one of racing at the J/22 World Championships and with a tenth in race 1, to be followed by a bullet in each of races 2 and 3 it is the South African team of Ian Ainslie, Greg Davis and Charles Nankin who have taken an early lead.

Yesterday saw day one of racing at the J/22 World Championships and with a tenth in race 1, to be followed by a bullet in each of races 2 and 3 it is the South African team of Ian Ainslie, Greg Davis and Charles Nankin who have taken an early lead.

The opening races of the series saw a steady 5-10 knot wind which increased to 10-15, with sixty boats on the start line.

Ian Ainslie is the defending World Champion and will be pleased with this clear indicator after three races.

Whilst ISAF does not have a complete report, the preliminary results after three races are as follows. A total of nine races are scheduled to complete the series, with racing continuing until 12 October.
