After seven races and without winning a single one, Augie Diaz and John Rogers (USA) have won the Snipe Westerns in California.
Discarding a ninth place, theirs was proof if any were needed, that consistency wins championships. Three seconds and three third places saw them finish 2.25 points ahead of Alexandre Paradeda and Flavio Fernandez (BRA), early championship leaders. Paradeda, after winning three of the first four races, suffered towards the latter part of the week, allowing the duo from the USA through on the final day yesterday.
Marcos Mascarenhas and Pedro Caldas (BRA) finished in third place on 30 points in the 25 boat fleet which included entries from Chile, the Bahamas, Japan and Uruguay.
