Racing Finally Starts in Austria
The winds Gods finally blew in Austria yesterday allowing the Mistral Europeans to get underway for the 71 competitors in the men’s fleet and 45 competitors in the women’s discipline.
The winds Gods finally blew in Austria yesterday allowing the Mistral Europeans to get underway for the 71 competitors in the men’s fleet and 45 competitors in the women’s discipline.
Two races were sailed on the second day of the Championship in light to moderate breezes. Keen to get racing, there were several general recalls and as a result the race committee finally got a start off under the black flag.
The French sailors were on good form, and after two races Samuel Launay is leading the men’s fleet and fellow French sailors Sandrine Nuvolone and Lise Vidal are one and two in the women’s fleet.
Twelve races are scheduled in total for the championships with racing concluding on the 14 September.
