Three Golds For Brazil and Two For Argentina

The typical south Wind in Guanabara Bay gave the start of the last day of races.

A heavy thunderstorm forming northwest of Rio de Janeiro brought the races to stand still, except for the Lightnings when a light breeze from southwest gave Mario, Telma and Mark Buckup in the last position after a 720o after start, the opportunity of being the first to hoist the spinnaker, reach the finish line in 3rd and win the gold medal. All other classes had to wait for the 25 knots wind and the Champinship was closed with a superb race of heavy winds and sea, with a wonderfull show to all expectators, race officers and judges attending the last group of sailors who remained racing for the 15 Medals of the best in South America.
