Defending Champions Start Well
The MasterCard European Championship for 49ers started in Grimstad, Norway yesterday. Three races were sailed in all four groups in light, but stable conditions.
The MasterCard European Championship for 49ers started in Grimstad, Norway yesterday. Three races were sailed in all four groups in light, but stable conditions.
The defending European Champions Michaeal Hestbaek/Rasmus Terp van Hansen (DEN) had a great start to the regatta with two firsts and a fourth place. The new British team of Chris Draper and Simon Hisckocks are lying and second, and Austrians Nico Dellekarth and Nikolaus Resch are in third position.
With a final entry of 88 boats and all the 19 top ISAF World ranked teams in the world, there will be strong competition to make the final cut of 25 teams who will qualify for the Gold final.
