The final races were tricky for the Laser sailors. The course was placed quite close to land and the conditions were highly variable.
The wind blew from Northwest but jumped back and forward during the races and the strength was varying from 3 to 7 m/s. The final races were very demanding for all 232 competitors.
Karl Suneson (SWE) overtook his fellow countryman Fredrik Lasssenius (SWE) to win the European Championship in the senior fleet. Lassenius finished in second position and Paul Goodison (GBR) finished third.
All of the top three had very high scores in one race on the final day reflecting the difficult conditions, and the difficulty of coming back through the fleet in such variable and unpredicatable winds.
In the Youth fleet Andonis Manolakis (GRE) took the title, just one point clear of Thomas le Breton (FRA) who had been leading the youth fleet all week. Hannes Baumann (GER) finished in third position.
