The competitors arrived at Cesme Sailing Club for day four of the regatta to find little wind and that Ben Ainslie and Mateusz Kusznierewicz had both been disqualified from race five.
Both measurement infractions, Ben having too much centreboard projection and Mateusz for a breach of measurement procedure.
With two races scheduled for the day, the first one started while everyone was still on the shore with no wind when it was announced that the first race would start on time in thirty minutes and the start line was about forty minutes away. We believe the towing race to the start line was won by the australian team. Common sense prevailed and after a short postponement everyone arrived at the start to find a 12 to 14 knot wind from 350°. The race got away on the first start with four boats OCS, those who went out to the right picked up a big lift which set the pattern for the race. First was Andrew Simpson (GBR) followed by Pascal Rambeau (FRA), Rafael Trujillo Villar (ESP), Ben Ainslie (GBR), Jonas Hoegh Christensen (DEN) and Stefan De Vries (NED).
Race 7 started in similar conditions again favoring the right hand side. Emilios Papathanassiou (GRE) was sailing low and fast to the right trying to be first to the lift. The locals started to get excited when Enver Adakan (TUR) led around the last mark. However sailing at the middle of the course trying to protect both sides he was pitted on the line by Emilios who was followed by Kristian Aderman (SWE), Luca Devoti (ITA) the new overall leader, Ben Ainslie (GBR) and Florian Chtounder (FRA).
There is one race scheduled for friday.
