Team Tonic Wins But Misses Out on Record

Nick Hewson’s Farr 52 Team Tonic won the Bord Faitle Round Ireland Race crossing the finish line off Wicklow, Ireland at 01:34 hours this morning.

It became apparent yesterday, when the fresh winds dropped shortly after the check-in point at Mew Island, Co. Down, that Team Tonic would miss out on the course record of 3 days, 4 hours and 23 minutes set by a former Whitbread 60 ‘Jeep Cherokee’ skippered by Colm Barrington.

The rest of the fleet are expected in around lunch time today.
