Jourdain Leads After Day One
It was not a "one-mono-show", but a gathering of many fine racing mono hulls around the island of Groix.

For the first stage of the Trophy of Larmor Beach, five 60 ft and one 50 ft played cat and mouse in the shifty, squally wind conditions. Local knowledge was very beneficial on the race course and Roland Jordan took victory on the first day.
Not too much happened in the morning, the wind finally materialised, with a procession of clouds, at the beginning of the afternoon. The lateness of the wind filling in was no bad thing for Mike Golding, joining the competition slightly later than planned due to extreme weather holding up their journey down, he had time to get to the first start yesterday.
It is clear from todays racing that all the competitors are fast and that the regatta is far from over. Racing will continue on Friday…
