New Record of 35 hours 17 min and 14 secs

Subject to WSSRC ratification, Steve Fossett in PlayStation has broken the record for the Fastnet course.

He left Cowes, Squadron line, at 16.23.53 on Friday 15th March 02, rounded the Fastnet Rock exactly 18 hours later and finished in Plymouth at 03.41.07 on Sunday morning – an elapsed time of 35 hours 17 minutes 14 seconds.

The previous record time, set in the Fastnet Race by Loick Peyron in Fujiicolor II in 1999, was 40 hours 27 minutes.
