Final Day

The return of stronger winds for the final day of the championship once again benefitted the local sailors, and helped them to share the top six places with the Swedes.

6. Sebastian Ripard (MLT)

The British team were always aiming primarily at the Under-12 prizes and ended with 1-2-3 through twins Ben and Tim Saxton and Chloe Martin.

A.P.Singh’s Indian team was by no means disgraced in the unfamiliar (cold!) conditions and gained valuable experience.

This second Malta Euromed event, with forty sailors, charter boats for all the visitors and excellent wind conditions, confirmed its place as a valuable addition to the Optimist calendar. It can be expected to go from strength to strength in future years.
