Break Through

Within the last few hours, the leading yachts in the Volvo Ocean Race have broken free of the ridge of high pressure that locked them together for over a day.

Team SEB retained their lead and were the first to burst out of the high-pressure bubble. They now have a 13-mile advantage over illbruck.

Gunnar Krantz’s team are now racing towards the waypoint of Eclipse Island, 109 miles away, at a sprightly 7 knots. Their current pace gives an estimated time of arrival of around 07.00hrs hours GMT tomorrow morning (Tuesday 27th November) or 15.00hrs local time in Perth, Australia, but the fleet could well speed up between now and Eclipse Island.
