Day 3

Enjoying the 16-22Kn winds and clear conditions which characterized the 2001 China Coast Regatta, the final day’s racing took the IRC classes into heavier seas around Beaufort in an 18NM Islands race.

Jelik (Frank Pong) took line honours yet again, although a fierce challenge was mounted by David Kong in Hocux Pocux 2.

Neil Pryde’s Hi Fidelity won the final race on corrected time, only three seconds clear of Stella (Fred Kinmoth) but enough to secure an overall series win for the New Zealander. All boats now have a two day break, with the 350NM Hainan race starting at 16:00hrs on Wednesday 24 October.
