Feathering

After all the complaints and reassessment last week, Grant Dalton’s Amer Sports One has finally managed to take back the lead from illbruck. The weather offers several different lanes without a clear tendency, at least at the moment.

Team News Corp made the most interesting move. After trying both tacks for several times, they have finally tacked away from their rivals, heading in a southwesterly direction. Their nerves will be tested on accepting high initial losses in the hope for big gains at a later stage. With this move they hope to get into the influence of the developing low-pressure system first, enabling the yacht to ease the sheets and reach towards the finish while the rest of the fleet is beating into headwinds. The price to pay could be an up to 400 miles longer course.

These unsettled conditions in front gives the second group a chance to come back in the race, gaining more than seven miles every hour. Djuice has found some speed and hold the distance to Amer Sports Too.
