What a stormy beginning. On the first day of the VW Austria Lakes Week strong northwest wind up to seven beauforts made sailing exciting.

All the favourites performed well. Andreas Geritzer, world´s number six, won both races in the Laser class, Sebastian Guter from Germany did the same in the Mistral class. Olympic Champion Christoph Sieber coming back from a break since theOlympics had two second places. “It was very close, but today Sebastian was too fast for me.”

In the Europe Class, Lenka Smidova is leading after two races. In second position: Verena Wagner from tyrol. Maria Coleman, ranking second in the world, won the second race, in heat one Coleman had equipment problems.

Tomorrow the next start will be at 11.00 a.m.
