New Greek World Champions

Panagiotis Mantis and Theodoros Polyehronidis (GRE) won the 470 Junior World Championship that have concluded in Istanbul, Turkey. Second were Yosef Yogef and Amir Shahar (ISR).

Race 8

Race Committee and the sailors waited until 15:00 hours the steady NE wind, which finally arrived in good shape 15-18 knots.

German Ulrich was the big suprise of the day, he rounder the first windward mark as 15th, but his attack gace him the third position at the finishing line, placing him as third overall after 8 races with one discard.
The finishing order was 1st Slovenian Hmeljak, 2nd French Charbonnier and as 3rd the Greek Mantis.

Race 9

Same condition continued as race 8, wind NE 18 knots, time to time raising to 20 knots. Waves condition 0,50 meter. This race was the show of the large Greek Team accompanied by Slovenian Hameljak. French Charbonnier one of the favorites of the championship conducted a very bad race and finished 17th.
The finishing order Greek is 1st place, Slovenian Hameljak is second and followed by the Greek Mantis, one of the best performers of the serie until the end of the 9th race.
