Spectacular Match Racing

Saturday, September 1 was a spectacular day on the Manhasset Bay. The third day of match racing at the 2001 International Knickerbocker Cup brought perfect weather for the 12 teams who finished 9 flights in their second round robin.

The sky was crystal clear and bright blue, the water was sparkling and the fresh NW breeze at 8 –15 knots held steady for the entire day. Racing was extremely close and intense. This was match racing at its finest.
