South African Mark Sadler takes the lead after Day 1
Mark Sadler took the lead after two races in around 12 knots on day 1. Although he and others had a lucky escape after missing the start of the first race, having drifted too far down wind. The race was ultimately abandoned when the fickle wind failed altogether on the second beat.
Race 1 proper saw Ian Ainslie having to restart, whilst Sadler was first to the top mark and stayed there in an increasingly lumpy sea.
The start of the second race of the day saw a crowded pin end. Ian Ainslie took race 2, keen to improve on his eighth position in race one.
