The forecast racing proved correct with South East winds 12 knots reducing to 4-5 knots later in the afternoon.
“Todayâs conditions provided sailors with a range of light to moderate winds with changeable direction, this required the sailors to keep there heads up out of the boat to take advantage of the changeable conditions”says Yachting New Zealandâs High Performance Manager, Peter Lester.
Sydney 2000 representative and bronze medallist Aaron McIntosh finds himself trailing fellow board sailors Scott Radley and James Wells. With three races still to be sailed and a further discard race still to be deducted from the final score, McIntosh will be hard to beat.
Sarah Macky has taken over the lead from Abby Mason in the Europe Class after winning two of today’s races. In the Laser class Alistair Gair had aday of mixed fortunes however his consistent form has allowed him to maintain the lead.
Andrew Brown and Jamie Hunt continued to show good form outsailing the rest of the 470 class, they now have a 12-point lead over the rest of the field
