The first day of the Algarve Cup in Vilamoura ended with Francois Brenac of France in the lead with four wins out of five matches
Second was Germany’s Morton Henriksen who had a clean sweep of three wins out of three matches sailed.
Eight flights were achieved in a day where the wind had started at Force 4 but died throughout the day. Unfortunately the heavy sea which accompanied the morning’s strong winds did not flatten out so that the afternoon’s sailing took place in light winds with a big swell, making tight match racing very difficult.
