Obituary

It is with deep regret that we advise the passing away of Julius Blankstein on 27 February 2001 aged 87 years.

Julius had dedicated much of his life to promoting and supporting our sport. He was a past member of the ISAF Racing Rules Committee and Centreboard Boat Committee, as well as an International Judge. As Chairman of the World Youth Sailing Trust he was key in supporting funding to developing nations, both to run national training programmes and to provide assistance to such teams at the ISAF Youth World Sailing Championships. He was involved with several class associations, inclucing a past President of the International Flying Dutchman Class Association, and active within the Israel Yachting Association. Our sympathies are with Julius’ wife Elaine, children and many grand children.
