Dublin Bay offers the sailors and officials a uniquely compact site - with easy circulation between the accommodation, dinghy park and dining/social areas. The venue is a short distance from the sailing area, international airport and the capital city of Dublin. The range of on-shore facilities, proximity to the capital city, and spectator opportunities will make the venue popular to supporting families.

The championship will be organised by the Royal St George (RSGYC) and National Yacht Clubs (NYC), by appointment of the Irish Sailing Association (ISA).

The RSGYC and NYC will provide all the onshore facilities required by the sailors and officials - ample boat parking and launching, good changing and shower facilities and social areas. The layout of the clubs will provide a controlled 'field of play' on the lower level for sailors and coaches, and an upper floor level that can be used by officials, family, members and guests.

Racing Area - Dublin Bay

Dublin Bay is an excellent venue for sailing. The horse-shoe shaped bay, open to the east and approximately six miles cross, allows for fair racing. The winds are predominantly driven by the North Atlantic weather systems passing over the country resulting in a prevailing south westerly breeze giving a range of sailing conditions. Dublin Bay is subject to tide and although the speed of the current is not excessive it is often of tactical importance. The size of the bay is capable of accommodating large fleets and multiple courses.

The hotel has the capacity to accommodate all event participants, to include sailors, coaches, officials and sponsors.
