My philosophy if elected as ISAF President would be to lead ISAF as the best organization it can be continually seeking to improve. Through initiative, taking with others, I would like ISAF to deliver a unified vision for the sport, focus on reality and ensure the growth of sailing through identifying effective ways to contribute to its development. I would ensure ISAF is a dynamic, reliable, competent and vibrant organization which is respected, has integrity and credibility, effectively and efficiently operating in a continually evolving world. I have been involved in sailing all my life, with many key positions held in the sport, both as a volunteer and in commercial appointments, and am driven by a passion for the sport. I firmly believe that sailing has many opportunities ahead of it and am confident that my business focus and experience will enable me to lead ISAF to these. |

Sailing Administration |

It was a natural step to become involved in the America's Cup, and in 1987 I was appointed CEO of Italia, going on to be involved in the 2001 Luna Rossa campaign, and President for the 2004 and 2007 Luna Rossa Challenges. A key part of my role was securing sponsors, and managing their ongoing involvement in our projects. The Volvo Ocean race has also been close to my heart, and I managed Giovanni Solidini's campaign, but despite raising EUR6.5 million, we were unable to meet the required budget to compete in the Volvo Ocean Race. | ||
