It is with great sadness that World Sailing reports that Guillermo Patiño passed away on 4 September 2018.
 
Guillermo, a Spanish national, spent more than 30 years officiating as an International Race Officer.
 
He was a teacher and mentor for many national and international Race Officers in Spain’s Balearic Islands.
 
He became an International Race Official in 2004 and spent many years as a Race Officer at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia Trophy, the Christmas Race and the Copa Del Rey. Alongside this he was involved at this beloved Club Nautico Arenal where he was Rear Commodore for Sailing from 2002 to 2006.

A longstanding International Race Official, he spent many years as a Race Officer at the Princess Sofia Trophy, the Christmas Race and the Copa Del Rey and was always involved in all club racing events held at his beloved Club Nautico Arenal, where he was Rear Commodore (Sailing) from 2002 to 2006.
