It's more like Costa del Hayling at the moment - sweltering heat and little wind make it great for sunbathers and ice cream vans, but less so for the Moth fleet. The race committee made the most of the breeze that did come in and managed to get two races in for Yellow fleet and one for Blue fleet, bringing the Qualifying Series to a close after 5 races.
The 2014 Flying Dutchman World championships came to a close with the Hungarian pair of Szabolcs Majthenyi and Andras Domokos taking first place in the final race and continuing their series of great results throughout the week long regatta.

US Sailing has announced the selection of Henry Marshall (Auburndale, Mass.) and Maximo Nores (Miami Beach, Fla.) to the 2014 U.S. Youth Olympic Team. Marshall will race in the Byte CII boys' singlehanded event, while Nores will compete on the Techno 293 board in the boys' windsurfing event.
Yachting New Zealand is delighted to announce that three young New Zealand sailors have been selected by the New Zealand Olympic Committee to attend the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games from 16 - 28 August at Lake Jinniu, Nanjing in China.
Jonatan Vadnai of Hungary is world champion of the single Byte CII class, the boat selected for sailing in the Youth Olympics at Nanjing, China from the 16-28 August. In the women's category it was a Dutch one-two with Odile Van Aaholt first and Mirthe Akkerman taking second place.
The World Byte CII Championships have got under way at Fraglia Vela Riva, Riva del Garda. This event counts as continental qualifier for Europe and for the first time Africa who have three teams taking part on Garda, Trentino, Algeria, Egypt and South Africa.

Ahead of the final day of racing at the Techno 293 South American Championships in Mendoza, Argentina Francisco Saubidet Birkner (ARG) had the title sewn up but Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games spots were there for the taking.
