Olympic Solidarity (OS) is one of the Commissions of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It is the body responsible for managing and administering the share of the television rights of the Olympic Games that the is allocated to its209 National Olympic Committee (NOC) members.
The aim of IOC Olympic Solidarity is to manage funding to NOCs recognized by the IOC, in particular those which have the greatest need of it. This funding takes the form of programmes faciltated at National / Internatonal levl between the IOC, itsNOCs and the ultimately with the National Sport Federations (MNAs). The IOC will work in partnership with the International Sports Federations (IFs) if necessary.
IOC Olympic Solidarity Funding
IOC Olympic Solidarity provides funding to National Olympic Committees (NOCs) through a number of programmes.
World Programme for Athletes:
- Olympic Games Scholarships for Athletes (sailors)
- Youth Olympic Games - Athlete support
World Programme for Coaches:
- Technical Courses for Coaches (Level 1-3)
- Sports Specifc Training Scholarship for Coaches
- Development of National Sports Structure
Applications must be made through the relevant National Olympic Committee and can be made easier with ISAF asistance.
