Technical Courses for Coaches

World Sailing offers three different courses, each designed to develop the core skills required to coach sailing at different levels. The courses are run by World Sailing Nominated Experts and may be organized and funded privately by the MNA (Member National Authority) or in conjunction with the relevant National Olympic Committee who will be able to assist in gaining Olympic Solidarity funding from the IOC (International Olympic Committee).

Level 1 Technical Course for Coaches - This course aims to teach coaches the core skills needed to become a sailing instructor and deliver learn to sail sessions effectively. Candidates will be confident sailors who wish to pass on their knowledge and passion to others.

Level 2 Technical Course for Coaches - This course aims to teach coaches how to deliver learn to race sessions effectively to sailors looking to improve their sailing ability. Candidates will be experienced level 1 coaches who wish to work towards developing their national training programme.

Level 3 Technical Course for Coaches - This course aims to develop experienced level 2 coaches, enabling them to take a senior role within their national training structure teaching them how to deliver race/perfomrance sessions effectively. Candidates will be confident racers with a variety of coaching experience.
