Some programme areas are of specific interest to our MNA's in helping to develop a National Learn to Sail Training Programme, especially for MNA's wishing to gain ISAF Recognized Training Accreditation for their National Training Programme. Contact must be made with the relevant National Olympic Committee (NOC) to get approval for application. Specific details can be sent out by the Training and Development Manager at ISAF.
- COACHES Area (Dinghy Sailing Instructors and their Trainers).
1. Technical Courses for Coaches programme (short term) - This funding can help an MNA organise 5 day Dinghy Instructor Training Workshops, run by ISAF Facilitators, to equip potential MNA NTP Instructors with the skills needed to teach dinghy sailing to complete beginners and to run an enjoyable, educational, structured syllabus within a National Training Programme Structure.
2. Olympic Scholarship for Coaches programme (medium term) - This funding can be used to help develop a particular individuals Instructing, Coaching and managerial skills. Candidates would be funded to take part in an extended programme, usually at a training facility where the individual would graduate with all the relevant qualifications to enable them to return to the MNA and deliver high class training and grow the National Programme.
3. Development of a National Sports Structure programme (longer term) - This programme can run alongside the ISAF 'Train the Trainers' funding and subsequent to having hosted a Technical Course for the MNA Instructors whereby MNA's would identify the need to have longer term supervision of the National Training Programme Trainers in order to develop a structure to the Programme. Olympic Solidarity would help by funding an ISAF Facilitator to come in and mentor a number of individuals that would have attended an ISAF 'Train the Trainers' workshop on request by the MNA to ISAF. This Programme requires a much mroe detailed development plan which would normally need a meeting between the Connect to Sailing Ambassoador and the MNA to discuss a realistic plan for.
