This Agreement is a legal document that sets out the Terms and Conditions for registering to and using ISAF Sailor. The ISAF Sailor is a complimentary service provided by ISAF.

These Terms and Conditions comprise the entire agreement between ISAF and anyone registered as an ISAF Sailor, and by registering to ISAF Sailor you agree to these Terms and Conditions, and you affirm that agreement every time you use ISAF Sailor. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, then your registration to ISAF Sailor will not be accepted.

Any failure by you to comply with a provision of these Terms and Conditions will amount to a breach of the Terms and Conditions.

The ISAF Sailor exists as a facility to provide the services detailed below. Other services may be added at any time:

• ISAF Sailor Registration
• ISAF Sailor Classification
• ISAF Sailor Email Services
• ISAF Sailor Biography
• ISAF Media Office
• ISAF Sailors' Forum

ISAF reserves the right to withdraw or modify one or more aspects of the ISAF Sailor registration and services.

When you register on the different services provided by the ISAF Sailor, as detailed above, you will be required to submit personal information. All information submitted will be held by ISAF on a computer. By submitting such personal information to the ISAF Sailor you are giving your consent for the processing and publishing of your information as specified for each ISAF Sailor service, as detailed below.

The ISAF Sailor Service is intended to be used by registered ISAF Sailors for the purpose intended by the services provided. Accordingly registered ISAF Sailors must not:

1. place material on, or otherwise use, the ISAF Sailor service for any business or commercial purpose, except as provided by publishing your sponsor’s website url and/or campaign website url.

2. Use your access to ISAF Sailor, or information gathered from ISAF Sailor users, for the sending of unsolicited bulk email.

You are responsible for ensuring that no material you post, or which is posted through a machine on which you access ISAF Sailor, nor any activity or communication you make in connection with any ISAF Sailor Service will be capable of:

1. infringing the intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity,

2. breaching any applicable law, whether criminal, tortious or otherwise, or

3. appearing to be offensive, threatening, obscene, pornographic, false, unreliable or misleading.

This is the initial stage of registration that all users have to complete to proceed to register for any of the ISAF Sailor services.

All the fields indicated are mandatory to be completed.

You undertake to register to ISAF Sailor, and all services provided by ISAF Sailor, using accurate and current information about yourself – including your correct name, email address and any other requested details. You are responsible to maintain the accuracy of the information provided on the ISAF Sailor Registration and ISAF Sailor services.

ISAF will retain the information submitted on a computer. The only information published from this initial ISAF Sailor Registration will be your name, country representation and ISAF Sailor ID. The remainder of the information submitted by you at this stage will not be published.

ISAF Sailor Registration information may be used for ISAF purposes to better understand who visits the ISAF website. This allows us to improve our content on an ongoing basis.

ISAF will communicate with you via your submitted email address to inform you of updates to the ISAF Sailor Services from time to time. 

ISAF may seek your consent to use your personal information for other purposes than indicated on the ISAF Sailor, but will not user your personal information for such other purposes without your consent.

On registering you will be required to submit a password, which will in future be used to logon to the ISAF Sailor. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. You shall be responsible for all uses of your ISAF Sailor Registration, whether or not authorised by you. You agree to immediately notify ISAF of any unauthorised use of your ISAF Sailor Registration.

When you register to the ISAF Sailor Classification, you will be required to submit information in order for your classification status to be determined. All the information you submit will be held by ISAF on computer. However, the only information published by ISAF on the internet in respect of your ISAF Sailor Classification will be limited to:

• Name
• Representation Nation (country)
• ISAF Sailor User ID
• Classification Status
• Classification Expiry Date

When you subscribe to ISAF Sailor Email Services, ISAF will undertake to provide the services to which you have subscribed. Your information will be held by ISAF on computer.

When you complete the ISAF Sailor Biography, all the fields you complete will be published on the internet, and other internet users may access, download and re-publish the information you have provided.

There are fields which you have the option to submit to ISAF, but not to make public on the internet. For such fields there is a tick box for you to complete as to whether you wish the information to be published. If you say yes the information will be published and if you say no, it will not.

You undertake to register to complete the ISAF Sailor Biography using accurate and current information about yourself, and to maintain such information.

ISAF retains the right to update any registered ISAF Sailor’s biography from time to time, to accurately reflect current information.

By submitting any information to the ISAF Sailor Biography you agree that ISAF retains the right to publish or reproduce the biographical information in official publications.

The ISAF Media Office is intended for media personnel.

ISAF will use the information submitted to provide the services/information to which you have subscribed.

Where you have subscribed to receive specific event information, ISAF may supply the Media Office Registration information you have submitted to third parties in order to fulfil your subscription requirements. Such third parties will be the provider of the information which you have subscribed to receive.

Please remember that any information that is disclosed in a forum becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

When using the ISAF Sailor Forum, your name and ISAF Sailor User ID will be published. You also have the option to publish an email address, home page/campaign website and country location, but the publication of such information is not mandatory.

Please note that information posted in a Forum may not be accurate or reliable.

• Views expressed on the ISAF Forum are those of each individual user;
• While ISAF hosts the ISAF Forum, and ISAF Committee Members are the co-ordinators, the content and opinions expressed do not reflect ISAF policy. Co-ordinators speak for themselves, not ISAF;
• ISAF shall not be liable for any statement, inaccuracy or omission of any type;
• ISAF will not be screening material for content prior to posting on the ISAF Forum;
• Users shall not defame, abuse, harass or threaten others;
• Users will be liable to indemnify ISAF for any losses or costs that ISAF incurs as a result of defamatory material posted by the user;
• Users shall not post or distribute any material that infringes and/or violates any right of a third party or any law;
• Users shall not post or distribute any vulgar, obscene, discourteous or indecent language or images;
• Users shall not advertise or sell or solicit to others or use the forum for commercial purposes of any kind;
• Users shall not post or distribute software or materials that contain a virus or other harmful component;
• Users shall not post or make statements that do not generally pertain to the designated topic or theme of any forum on the site;
• ISAF retains the right, exercisable in its absolute discretion, to delete or edit any material posted on the ISAF Forum by third parties for any reason at any time.

In addition, the following will be added to the ‘check contents of message before posting’ page:

ISAF reminds you that you are personally responsible for all material that you post on the Forum so think carefully before you send it. By posting material on the Forum, you are deemed to accept the Terms and Conditions for participation in the Forum.

ISAF may offer additional services to those registered to ISAF Sailor. Registered ISAF Sailors will be advised of such by email. Your use of those services may be subject to additional terms and conditions, or rules of use, which you must comply with if you choose to subscribe to that service.

To unsubscribe to all or part of ISAF Sailor, login to ISAF Sailor and then click on the Unsubscribe Button on the menu. You will be offered the option to unsubscribe from the individual parts of ISAF Sailor or in entirety. Once unsubscribed to ISAF Sailor, ISAF will retain the material you have submitted on computer.

Once unsubscribed, you may re-register as an ISAF Sailor. To do so, you should enter your ISAF Sailor ID and password, and you will be able to update your previous ISAF Sailor entry.

For each visitor to the ISAF Sailor website and the ISAF website, our web server automatically records the user's domain name and IP address. The IP addresses are used in aggregate to analyze trends, provide anonymised demographic information, administer the site, track user's movement and gather information on the pages accessed. IP addresses are not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person.

You acknowledge that all copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights in and relating to the ISAF Sailor and ISAF Sailor services (including the information which is contributed by registered ISAF Sailors) are owned by ISAF.

By submitting any information to any of the ISAF Sailor Services you are representing that you are fully entitled to do so.

ISAF reserves the right to:

1. suspend or terminate any registered ISAF Sailor’s access to ISAF Sailor, or parts of it, and/or

2. edit, or require the registered ISAF Sailor to edit, information posted on the ISAF Sailor service, if the information appears to be in breach of any provision of this Agreement.

Any person whose ISAF Sailor registration or access has been suspended or terminated must not re-register for or re-access the ISAF Sailor service without ISAF’s prior consent.

In order to protect your privacy, we are registered in accordance with and seek to comply with the UK Data Protection Act 1998. We follow appropriate security procedures in the storage and disclosure of personal information so as to prevent unauthorised access by third parties. However, the internet is not a totally secure medium and you acknowledge and agree that we shall not be responsible for any unauthorised use, distribution, damage or destruction of personal information, except to the extent we are required to accept such responsibility by the Data Protection Act 1998.

ISAF reserves the right to communicate such of a registered ISAF Sailor's submitted information as we hold to third parties which seek the disclosure of it, and which make legally-compliant request for its disclosure.

The ISAF Sailor site will contain links to other sites not operated by or on behalf of ISAF. ISAF does not endorse or accept responsibility for the content or operation of such websites.

If at any time there are any modifications to the above Terms and Conditions all registered ISAF Sailors will be notified. If you do not agree to modifications as they may occur you should unsubscribe to ISAF Sailor.

Your continued subscription to ISAF Sailor will signify your acceptance of any modification in the Terms and Conditions.

ISAF has no control over or responsibility for the truth or accuracy of any information provided by people registering to ISAF Sailor

The biography information is submitted by the registered ISAF Sailors themselves, and ISAF has no responsibility for the information posted. However, it should be noted that where results from ISAF Ranked Events are detailed, then this information is provided by ISAF and ISAF guarantees the accuracy of such.

Even though registered ISAF Sailors are prohibited from doing so, they may provide information, or otherwise behave, in a way that is unreliable, misleading or even illegal. Further, you should note that people may not necessarily be who they say they are.
