Yesterday's race winner Thierry SCHMITTER (NED) lies on 33 points, just nine points off the gold medal position. He is tied on points with Damien SEGUIN of France. The 2004 gold medallist looked to be out of contention after following up his OCS score from yesterday with an 11th in today's opening race. However SEGUIN fought his way back into medal contention with a win in race eight.
With just nine points separating the top six skippers, it looks set to be a very closely fought battle for the medals in tomorrow's final two 2.4 Metre races.
