After the twelve crew round robin ISAF World Match Race Rankings' number one, Marie BJORDLING (SWE) looked to be in imperious form, sweeping to victory in all eleven of her round robin races. Rankings' number two, Claire LEROY (FRA), has also started well with eight victories. Recent winner of the ISAF Grade 3 Ladies Cup in Denmark and runner up here two years ago, Nina BRAESTRUP (DEN), is another of the competitors with an eight from eleven record which sees her going through to the semi final. Completing the quartet is another sailor with eight wins and three loses, Klartje ZUIDERBAAN (NED), number eight in ISAF World Match Race Rankings. Winner here a year ago, Jenny AXHEDE (SWE) struggle to re-find that sort of form and finished with just five wins and outside of the top six that progressed to the quarter final stage.

After this round robin the best six classified sailors moved onto the quarter finals, where a round robin of six was sailed. The favourites, and four highest placed sailors after the first stage, confirmed their first round results to progress through to the semi finals. BJORLING this time dropped one flight although she still topped the standings. Of the top four, BRAESTRUP came close to elimination, finishing two and five like Brazil's Fernanda OLIVEIRA.
