In lap 3 Taylor and Mobbs managed to get some seperation going downwind but the pressure was elsewhere - with Wilkins and Martin. Whilst the Swedes Johan Rook and Malin Broberg had managed to get to the first leeward in the lead it was the Dutch crew of Barend Hilterman and Max Blom that managed to split the gunslingers at the third leeward rounding. A close cover but not exceedingly tight was established by Wilkins and Martin whilst Taylor and Mobbs had to work past Hilterman and Blom first to get a shot at the leaders.
At 11.43 it was all over at the front and the World Champions had been decided - Tim Wilkins and Heather Martin. What a fight though. The win must be all the sweeter for the amount of effort that had to thrown at it.
Leading Ladies team are Annika Ellerbrock & Anne Werner from Germany who had there own pitched battle with Dutch girls Stephanie & Chantalle Grootscholten by a mere 3 point margin.
The first Youth team were Dutch pairing Hansebas Meijer & Fedor Couvert. Hugo Tucker and Tim Collino certainly deserve an honourable mention for a fine effort at ages 13 and 14 respectively.
