The 25-27 August is scheduled for arrival, measurement, practice and the opening ceremony. The following three days are given over to qualification races with a lay day before the final races from 1-3 September. The final two days are set aside for equipment loading and departure.
All entries for the Championship should be received by 12 June and the entry form is available from the 49er World Championship Website.
Last year's Championship was won by Spanish duo, Iker MARTINEZ and Xavier FERNANDEZ (ESP), who then went on to claim the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Athens. ISAF World Sailing Rankings' number ones Chris DRAPER and Simon HISCOCKS (GBR) were second last year and will surely be looking to go one better in Moscow. Also likely to be chasing victory in Russia are Ukranians Rodion LUKA and George LEONCHUK, who were runners up in Athens and currently lie second in the Rankings.
