Registration, practice races, opening ceremony, organisers, sailors and coaches added the last touches before the start of the regatta. Racing will starts Wednesday 26 May with the Match Racing opening round robin series scheduled at 1000hrs, followed by the Laser Radial, 49er, 470 Men and Stars at 1100hrs. The remaining classes will race in the afternoon.

Classes with over 60 entries will be divided in groups, before racing the finals in Gold, Silver and (Bronze fleets for the Lasers). The other classes will have fleet races.

The medal races will be sailed on Saturday 29 May for the 470 men and women, and on Sunday 30 May for the other classes, except for the 2.4mR. The Match racing final will also take place on Sunday in front of the yacht club.

The conditions will provide for interesting racing with winds forecasted to range between 8 and 10 knots. After mixed conditions in Palma for the Trofeo Princesa Sofia Mapfre, and light air in Hyères for the Semaine Olympique Française, sailors will be eager to race in the breeze, forecasted later in the week.
