Across nine races, sailed between 11-25 knots, the Hungarians dominated the 41 teams from three continents with an almost perfect series. The pair secured five race races and four second place finishes.
Alongside their World Championship win they also secured the silver sombrero, awarded to the best team without a discard.
After a mixed start, Germany's Kay-Uwe Lütdke and Kai Schäfers found their way in the demanding conditions and were able to claim the silver medal, an honour they clinched back in 2016.
Enno Kramer and Ard Geelkerken of The Netherlands finished third.
The 2020 edition of the Flying Dutchman World Championships will be held in Altea, Spain in September 2020.
