The Hague, The Netherlands
Alastair Fox, ISAF Events Manager said, "It is great news for ISAF and for the development of Olympic sailing that we have received preliminary bids to host the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships from North America, South America, Asia and Europe. With Perth, Australia, hosting the event in 2011 it is clear that the ISAF Sailing World Championships is of great interest and value to cities from around the world
An Evaluation Commission will assess the full bids received by 1 December 2010 and presentations made in January. Only cities who have submitted a preliminary bid are now eligible for consideration.
The final decision as to where the 2014 ISAF Worlds will take place will be made by the ISAF Executive Committee in February 2011 following the advice of the Evaluation Commission.
