James O'Callaghan ISA Performance Director said:
"Achieving the nomination to represent Ireland at the Youth Worlds is a two part process. Initially sailors have to win the ISA nomination series, which combines the recent ISA Youth Nationals and the Mitsubishi Motors Youth Championship. The second criterion is the attainment of a defined international standard at pre-identified events."
"This year's team is extremely strong," said O'Callaghan, "They have the potential to achieve, not just in Turkey but within the longer term Olympic programme."
In 2012 the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship will take place in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, Ireland.
