Jim RICHARDSON and his Barking Mad team are the 2004 Farr 40 World titleholders, and they appear to be on track for a successful defence of their World championship title.
Today they produced two thirds and a fourth to win the Hamilton Island sponsored series, ahead of Massimo MEZZAROMA's Nerone and the top performing Australian boat of recent months, Richard PERINI's Evolution.
Race six was won by the Italian Rascals, Vincenzo ONORATO's Mascalzone Latino from Steve and Fred HOWE's War Path, with Barking Mad third and Nerone sailing solidly into fourth.
Race seven produced 'dodgem cars' with a heavily armed US military troop carrier crossing paths with David URRYSs War Games. Team Shockwave with Neville CRICHTON on helm and Michael COXON at his shoulder calling tactics, was on fire winning the race from David GOTZE's Brighton Star, having its best race of the series with Barking Mad a consistent third.
In the final race once more Team Shockwave won, this time from War Path and Lang WALKER's Kokomo.
