The Odyssey of Ulysses

On Sunday Afternoon, 31 doublehanded crews set sail from the Ramparts of Antibes for the second Odyssée of Ulysses, a Mini 6.5 regatta that takes the fleet around the Mediterranean and North Africa.
Organized by Les Voiles d'Antibbes and the Antibes Yacht Club, the race started in ideal conditions -- 12 knots of wind at 125 degrees. Last night was rough, however, with winds gusting to 40 knots. The first leg takes the fleet to Porto Pozo in Sardinia.

The fleet that left more that 24 hours ago has be battling against some very strong winds, resulting in a number of retirements. However Northern Computers(419) is still in third position three minutes behind the second placed yacht of Moulin Roty(151) sailed by Armel Tripon and Erwan Leroux. Leaders Samuel Manuard and Mickael Mergui in Tip Top II (431) are more than two and a quarter hours ahead.
