2003 ISAF World Championship

RTVA will publicize the World Championship through its three Radio stations, three TV channels, one of them via satellite, and via the internet.
RTVA PLC. the Consorcio Provincial Mundo Vela, Andalusian Sports PLC, and the organizers of the 2003 ISAF World Championship, recently signed an agreement to publicize and promote the activities of the World Championships.

RTVA will be the official broadcaster for the World Championship, and through its various stations (Canal Sur TV, Canal Sur Andalusia, Andalusia TV, Canal Sur Radio Canal Fiesta Radio and Andalusia Information) will provide full coverage of the Championship via reports during the sports news.

RTVA will broadcast a special programme covering the Opening Ceremony, which will take place on 13 September at the Plaza de Toros in El Puerto de Santa Maria. Each day of racing will be covered by Canal Sur who will broadcast 30 minutes of highlights and the results from the day's events. This broadcast will be are available to any broadcasting company that wishes to use it. An exclusive programme on the subject of sailing will also be exclusively broadcast each day on Canal 2 Andalusia, and also daily connections with the information services offered by Canal Sur Television.

Canal Sur Andalusia is dedicating a weekly programme to the subject of sailing and the World Championship, with news about the Championship and competitions related to sailing. Additionally, Canal Sur Radio, along with coverage on its various stations, will create an official station for the 2003 ISAF World Championship.

During the signing of the agreement, Antonio Ortega, President of the World Championships organizing committee and the Autonomous Government of Andalusia's Department of Tourism and Sport, noted the importance of these World Championships as being the first occasion when all the Olympic Classes will participate at the same time and of course the importance as the second of three Olympic Qualification Regattas for the 2004 Olympic Regatta, Athens, Greece.
