The 2- 4 December 2005 have been set as initial dates for the regatta. Caribbean Media Group is the organizer of this new regatta in consultation with Mirian EBBERS who is also the director of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta organization. The headquarters are located in La Palapa Centre and Marina where the registration and skippers briefing will be held as well as the prize giving party. According to the organizers, several major and international sponsors are showing interest to step on board the new venture with important budgets.

Many of the regular participants in other classic regattas such as Les Voiles de St. Tropez (Nioulargue), Antigua Classics, Régates Royales at Cannes, Porto Santo Stefano, Palma de Mallorca, Imperia and others have already committed to come to St. Maarten to sail in the Classic Regatta.

The Sint Maarten Yacht Club will once more be approached to sanction this regatta while a regatta committee will be established consisting of sponsors, business people and yacht enthusiasts. The first weekend of December has been chosen by the organizers in the hope to catch classic yachts coming prior to the St.Maarten Charter Yacht Exhibition and the Antigua Charter show.
