Equipment Committee Mid-Year Meeting

2005 ISAF Mid-Year Meetings

Southampton, Great Britain

The first ever Meeting of the ISAF Equipment Committee took place last weekend at the ISAF Secretariat, Southampton, Great Britain.

Appointed in November 2004, the ISAF Equipment Committee held it's Mid-Year Meeting from 8-9 April 2005. The Committee Members were joined in Southampton over the weekend by ISAF Vice-President, George ANDREADIS (GRE).

Members representing the Class Rule and Equipment Control Sub-Committees attended along with Chairman, Dick BATT and Vice-Chairman Riccardo SIMONESCHI (ITA). ISAF was also delighted to play host to a couple of recent Olympians who are Members of the Committee. Present in Southampton were Greece's 2004 Olympic Games gold medallist Sofia BEKATOROU and her fellow competitor in the 470 fleet, Marta WEÖRES (HUN).

18 Members make up the Equipment Committee with all but four of them attending the Meeting.

At the Meeting the Committee discussed the following key issues:

After examining these issues the Committee came up with proposals to be discussed at the the ISAF Council, Events Committee and Executive Committee Mid-Year Meetings, which take place in Stockholm, Sweden from 12-16 May 2005.
